On a late Sunday evening on 5/3/2009 in one of the suburbs of Asheville NC mother nature hit. In an evening that nothing was predicted but rain a severe thunderstorm moved into the area and kicked up a storm, how much of a storm?

Well from those photos of Tree's uprooted and Leaning on Houses and blocking roadways it was bad enough for all the local media outlets to ignore most of it.
The problem with this is if this was a water pipe busted in North Asheville, Biltmore, Downton, or the Colony of Haywood Street there would of been live report all evening and constant updates. Hell if Rutherfordton got a new red light the there would of been live coverage for at least 5 minutes on the local news station.
So is the everyday life outside the Tunnel, Biltmore, the bridge and the Colony of Haywood street. Oakley just has to turn its head and take it on the chin every time something like this happens. Most locals say Tornado touched down, maybe a small one but the local news stick with thunderstorms. If that was the case the tree's would of been moved this last winter, which was one of the windiest on record. This was more then just strong wind.
This is what you get when you have town which its city that does not care about the locals and only caters to the Loud Crowd that take up space down town. Because thats all that matter is Down town Asheville the most over rated town on earth.
